Q

How do I find out if my license is suspended?

A

If you are not sure if your driver's license is suspended or not you should contact your state's Department of Motor Vehicles or like agency and request information on the status of your license.

Your local DMV should be able to advise you on the status of your license, if it is currently valid or suspended. If your license is under suspension then the DMV should be able to tell you the reason for the suspension and what you will need to do in order to get your driver's license reinstated and valid again.

I am homeless and in a different state and DMV will not tell me, on the phone or by email, whether my license is valid. It is the only form of ID I have so I cant go in person for fear they will relieve me of it if it isnt valid.
