Who should report an auto insurance claim?

Anyone can report an auto insurance claim. However, it is usually best if the driver or the covered person who knows the most about what happened makes the initial call to the report the accident and file a claim

If the policyholder calls in the claim but was not the driver at the time of the accident the insurance company will want to speak with the driver and get their description of the accident as they determine liability for the claim damages.

If you did not obtain your auto insurance from the CarInsurance.com site than you still follow the same steps of calling your insurance company's claim number, which should be on your insurance card, and reporting the accident and damages and/or injuries. I found some information that very helpul that my AAA insurance claimer handler did not even advised me...AAA IS NOT A GOOD INSURNACE COMPANY THEY NEVER STAND UP FOR YOU, VERY SLOW & INCOMPETENT.
