Am I covered if I ghost ride the whip and crash my car?

We assume you mean you were "ghost riding the whip" where the whip is your vehicle. Made popular from the E-40's song, Mac Dre, and popular motorcross/stunt cycling. This act involves the driver and/or passengers of a car, truck, or vehicle accelerating while in gear, shifting to neutral and exiting while it is still rolling. Then, the "rider" walks, dances or rides on the hood or roof.

We have never experienced a claim where the claimant indicated they were ghost riding the whip and we hope for your safety that you do not ghost ride the whip or drive a vehicle in an unsafe manner. Police indicate that some deaths have occurred from this act.

Many insurance claims involve drivers doing stupid things. Depending on the circumstance a claim could be denied. For example, whenever a person making a claim is charged with committing a felony, most companies will withhold benefits until the trial and/or prosecution has completed the trial.

Another sure way to get your claim denied is by committing fraud and not being truthful with your insurance company. Insurance fraud occurs every day and in every state. People of all races, incomes and ages are victimized. Some estimate that insurance fraud costs Americans at least $80 billion a year, or nearly $950 for each family.

Please be careful and drive safely.
