The Georgia driver's manual does not note exactly how long points or violations remain on a GA driver's license or their record.
The manual does state that the accumulation of 15 or more points within 24 months under the point system, including violations committed out-of-state, will lead to a mandatory suspension of your Georgia license.
It is also noted that for any third conviction of a mandatory suspend able offense within 5 years, you will be declared a habitual violator. Being found to be a habitual violator comes with a five-year revocation of your GA license.
From this information we can determine that points stay on your record for at least 2 years and that violations stay on for at least 5 years.
The Georgia Department of Driver Services notes that after a conviction of a traffic offense, the court will forward notice of that conviction to the Department. But again they do not note for how long. We have contacted the GA DDS to see if there is a specific time period that points stay on your record and then drop off but have yet to receive back a response.
You can try to contact the DDS yourself at 866-754-3687.
