Insurance companies differ on their rules regarding aftermarket parts or the customizing of cars. In many cases for these performance or custom parts to be covered under your policy your insurance company would need to know about the parts beforehand. Many insurance companies would then want to do an endorsement to cover these non-factory parts. You will have to discuss the parts with the claims adjuster to see if they will be covered and also if some of these parts caused the car to catch fire if the car as a whole was covered. Having receipts will be of help if your insurance company will allow your claim. Remember to always let your insurance company know about any extras you add to your vehicle so you will make sure your policy is still intact and that the new parts are covered. If you are in need of a new insurance company that will allow customized parts we can try to get you a cheap car insurance quote.
